4 Months Old!

Our baby boy is turning four months old today! Every month seems to go by faster and faster. And little Jace changes so much every month! It is amazing to watch him grow, learn and develop his little personality!! So far I've found out this little man is very determined, observant, fun, loves people, and is very laid back! Here are some other fun facts from the past month!

Height/Weight: We have his 4 month doctor's appointment next week...I'll keep you posted.

Hair: Reddish brown...and getting lighter!

Eyes: Blue

Clothes size: He fits in all 6 month clothes...and can still squeeze into a few 3 month outfits, but they are a little snug!

Diapers: Jace moved into size 2 diapers this month! And after lots of trial and error we have discovered we are definitely a Pampers diaper family...they are the best!

Firsts this month:
First trip to Florida - 02/16/12 (4 states so far in his first year!)
First time staying in a hotel room - 02/16/12
First time rolling over - 02/29/12
First baseball game - 03/04/12

Likes:
Rolling over
Kicking his arms and feet (I'll post a video of this in an upcoming blog post)
Bath time
Sucking on his hands or a toy
Grabbing toys
Squealing
Sitting upright (with support)
Being held outward so he can see the world
Staring at people in the stands...keeps him occupied during the baseball games!

Dislikes:
Being hungry or tired
Being in the car seat too long...right now an hour and a half is his limit!
The sun shining in his eyes
Being hot (like his dad!)

Sleeping: He's an amazing sleeper so far! We put him down around 8pm every night and he sleeps until 8am the next morning! It's nice because I get up when Chris leaves for the field at 6:30am...so I normally have an hour or two to relax, have a cup of coffee and read. Jace also takes about three, one hour naps throughout the day. We are still swaddling him at night, but once he gets better at rolling over we are going to have to break him of the swaddle...which could also end our 12 hour nights of sleep! So we are enjoying it while it lasts!

Teething? Jace is already showing early signs of teething. A couple weeks ago we noticed that he started sucking on things, especially his hands, a lot more. And he has started drooling a ton! Not sure if he is really starting to teeth yet - we will ask the doctor next week - but it kinda seems like that might be the case! Although the symptoms can start months before a tooth actually makes an appearance...so it could still be awhile before we see his pearly whites! :)

Baseball games: I was a little nervous to see how Jace would do at the baseball games, but so far he has been awesome. I just sit him on my lap so he can watch the game. If he gets restless, I turn him around so that he can stare at all the people in the stands. He loves that and normally has a bunch of nice people smiling at him...so he smiles back. It's a fun game for everyone. I also normally bring a toy...he loves grabbing at it and trying to stick it in his mouth. That keeps him pretty occupied for 30 min or so. Then when he gets tired I pull out the pacifier and rock him to sleep. He normally sleeps great for a few innings until someone gets a great hit and the crowd cheers or a beer man yells and wakes him up! Ha ha! But he has been great and I've gotten so many compliments on how well behaved my baby is! Good work Jace!

Smiles, squeals and laughs: Our little man is one happy baby! He is always smiling, laughing or squealing. It's adorable. He's so much fun to be around. Just seeing him in the morning with a huge smile on his face just makes my day! Chris says its so fun to come home from a long day of baseball to the little guy smiling and squealing at him when he walks through the door. Seriously, it's the little things in life that make all the difference!

Pictures please: The three of us are going to pictures taken this Monday. Chris has a random day off and we haven't gotten pictures of Jace since he was 8 days old! I can't wait to see them...and of course I will post them as soon as I can! Until then, here are some of my favorite pictures from the past month!

  1. He's adorable and holding his head up so well!!! Its fun to read your posts b/c I think Addie is almost exactly a month younger than him (give or take a day) so I get to see what we have to look forward too :-) Love that he's so great for you at the ballgames! It makes it so much easier. Addie had 1 bad ballgame and it was pure torture for me, her, and everyone around us!!!!
