the gimenezs: Jax is 7 months!!

7 MONTH OLD UPDATE!

Weight: 20 pounds
Height: TBD...I need to weigh him!

Diapers: Size 3-4 Honest Brand diapers (but just about to move up to size 4!)

Clothes: 9-12 months (but 9 months are getting short and his belly hangs out! Time to move up to 12 months!)

Likes:
His ice teether
Playing with Jace
Being held/carried in the front pack
Pulling my hair (not my favorite)
Paper towels (I'll explain more!)
Rolling around

Firsts:
Sitting up! Jax can sit up all on his own now!
Rolling! And he has started rolling all over the place!
Sqealing (not my favorite new trick!)
Taking long naps -- he's finally taking consistent long naps!! Woo hoo!
Waving

Eating!!
Jaxon has been doing great with eating! He's tried all sorts of different baby foods...and so far besides green beans he will eat everything! He's still breast feeding 5-6 times a day and eating solids 3 times a day! But what does he love more than the food....the paper towel I use to wipe of his face afterward. He is normally covered with whatever baby food he has been eating, so I get a wet paper towel to wipe of his face. He frantically tries to grab it while I"m wiping him off and starts screaming if I take it away from him. If I let him have it he sticks it in his mouth, plays with his, shakes it.....he LOVES it! But it makes me nervous cause he could bite off a piece of it and choke. So it's a constant battle to get him clean and avoid him grabbing the paper towel.

Napping!
He is finally starting to take some longer naps. Sleeping has really been tougher with Jax then it was with Jace. He used to take little 20-30 minutes cat naps throughout the day which made it really hard to get anything done. But now he has started taking two longer naps!! So he will take an hour nap in the morning and a 1:30 nap in the afternoon. It's been SO much nicer. And he is so much happier when he gets those long naps. Even with the naps, he still sleeps about 11-12 hours at night and only wakes up once to eat. I"m still trying to break him of that one night feeding, but I'll take it for now!

Rolling and moving!
Jax may not be crawling get, but he can get around. He scoots, rolls and does this little "butt jump" to get where he wants to go. The butt jump is so funny. He lays on his back and pushes up with his heels (legs bent) so that his butt pops off the ground and he pushes himself backwards. He moves pretty fast like that...and has a goofy grin on his face the whole time.

Water time!
Jaxon loves the bath and the pool. He will sit in water forever! Jace used to start crying after 20-30 minutes at the pool. But Jaxon never complains....if he is in the water, he is happy!

Grabbing my hair!
Jaxon loves to grab my hair and it drives me nuts! I try to keep it up in a pony tail but he will still grab the end of it....and if he can, put it in his mouth. So much fun for me! Lol! It's hard when I'm carrying him in the front pack (one of his favorite things) because my hair is right there! Sometimes I wonder why I even blow dry it or curl it because I end up putting it up, out of his way all the time.

Teeth?
Nope! Nothing yet! He still puts everything in his mouth and chews on it, but nothing is popping through yet.

Spunky!
This kid has personality. He always has a huge smile, but is very demanding. He wants what he wants, when he wants it (great!) He makes it well known if he isn't happy with squeals or long, loud cries. He really loves people, but gets mad if he can't see us or isn't being held. It's cute that he is such a people person...but gets hard too when I'm on my own with the boys (which is probably why Jax has learned to love the front pack so much -- I need my hands free!) He's tough. He doesn't seem to mind when Jace is rough and actually laughs/smiles while I yell at Jace to stop. Ha! He rarely cries when he falls over or anything. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out when he gets older, but so far he is definitely keeping us on our toes and is SO much different than Jace!
