Well we made it! After a pit stop in Fresno, CA to install a brand new bedliner and Tonneau cover on our new F-150....we started the 10 hour drive down to Goodyear, AZ. The drive wasn't too bad and our new truck made the drive that much better...it was so comfortable and we were rocking out to our favorite Sirius radio stations the whole trip. Chris did all of the driving, such a trooper. I would of driven part of it, but I think he liked having something to do to pass the time. We arrived at our new house around 10pm Arizona time...were an hour ahead of Pacific Time until Day Lights Savings Time in a couple months. The house that Dara and Matt found is just perfect. The furniture is great and our bed is very comfortable! That's saying a lot since we had to leave our new king size Temperpedic bed at home. We have unpacked all of clothes and other things that we'll be using for the next 7 weeks. Which isn't much besides clothes and toletries. I had strict packing limitations from Chris...and they were very tough! Only two bags of clothes...you've got to be kidding me??? But I some how I did it! Chris only had one bag of clothes and two bags of baseball stuff...he definitely has this traveling stuff down. :)
Chris started going to the field on Monday morning and working out with the coaching staff and players that are in town. He has been taking BP, playing catch, hitting in the cage, running and lifting. But since we had been working out all off season, he said he feels like he is in really good shape. We were on week 10 of our P90X workouts and all of those push-ups and pull-ups were really starting to work for Chris. His arms and chest got A LOT bigger...and he leaned out in legs and stomach. I might be a little biased, but I think he looks great! He said that some of the guys have even commented about how big he has gotten. LOL! Lets just hope that extra strenth equals extra hits!
I'm still keeping up with the P90X workouts too. My arms haven't ballooneed as much as Chris' but I am definitely starting to see more definition. And I can officially do three pull-ups! Before I couldn't even lift myself up at all. I joined a gym down here with a bunch of the other girls. It's fun because every morning after we drop our husbands off we all go to the gym...so while our husbands are working out so are we! :) I have also been keeping myself very busy with school...and I spend most of the rest of my free time reading and doing homework. If this keeps up, spring training is going to be over before we know it!
Well Chris' the first day of "real" practice is on February 21st. That is when all of the pitchers and catchers report. Then about a week and a half later the games start! I'm so excited for Chris, this is such a big year for him. And I keep hoping and praying that he has a spring like he did last year. But, everything will happen for a reason and we just have to trust that everything will work out no matter what!
