We're half way there!

Enjoy another blog narration by Chris!  :)

As our first and only off day approaches, we are about half way done with spring training games.  Unfortunately, this is about the time when guys are starting to get sent down to minor league camp and told that they will not be making the big league team out of spring.  As the numbers start slimming down in camp, so does the playing time for the back ups.  It is going to start getting tougher to find innings to play because now a lot of the starters are going to be playing 7-9 innings from here on out.  This is also an exciting time because you can really start to see things within a team come together.  It is also fun because you are facing really good competition every game.  From here on out it's pretty much starters and bench guys that rule the roost.  Lucky enough for me I am still in the hunt, therefore, I still have a locker.  And in these days of spring, thats all you can hope for.  I have been fortunate because I play five different postitions, so I can be a back up on any given day in five different spots.  So far this spring I have played first, third, caught, right field and soon to be left field.  Packing all these gloves around is not an easy task, but well worth it.  As we count down the days to end spring training, I'm continuing to fight for those hard to earn singles that used to come so easily.  I do feel great at the plate right now and I'm doing a lot of things that a lot of people outside of baseball don't recognize like moving the runners, bunting guys over and getting runners in from third base with less than two outs.  So with the last few days of spring I'm going to continue to keep working my butt off and just let the chips fall where they may.
