On Christmas day we made the drive to Gilroy, CA to spend a few days with Chris' parents. We went the same time as Chris' brother, Todd and his wife Katie. Their son is only 5 1/2 months older then Jace...so it is so much fun to see them together, especially now that Jace is walking too. We had such a great time just watching the two boys play together. Their favorite game was running up and down the halls yelling! Ha ha! We also learned a new language....Dago. :)
The day after Christmas, after we all got settled, we enjoyed a yummy prime rib dinner. Paul baked the prime rib covered in rock salt....it really seals in all the juices and flavor. Delicious! The next morning we had homemade swiss omelets at Chris' grandma's house. It's the best breakfast ever. Thank you Julia for making two Christmas breakfasts since we weren't all able to be there Christmas morning! We also celebrated Chris' actual 30th birthday (if you remember we had a huge surprise party a couple weeks ago.) It was a pretty low key night except for Chris and Todd playing power hour (kinda) and we had an amazing mint chocolate chip ice cream cake. Before we left Gilroy, we braved the cold weather and went to Gilroy Gardens to ride the rides and look at the beautiful Christmas lights. Jace was a little unsure at first, but then liked the rides and had fun!
It was a great trip and so fun to spend some time together with the 8 of us under one roof...we don't get that often enough! Here are some pictures of our trip! (We don't include Todd's son in the pics on the blog, but we got some great shots of the boys together!)
