My cousins are driving down from Michigan today to watch the game...it's my cousin Dawn, her husband Mike and their two kids Jayleen and Joseph. The two kids were both in our wedding. It's actually really nice to have family so close. When Chris goes on some of the longer roads trips I'm definitely going to make a couple trips up there to see them.
After the Toledo series we are back home in Columbus for 8 days. Then Chris is off to Allentown, PA and then Scranton, PA. I am a HUGE fan of The Office and I'm actually considering making the trip just to say that I have been to Scranton. But we'll see...thats a a lot of driving. There are a lot of amazing wives on this team...so we are already planning to get together while the guys are on the road trips to go see a movie or do a wine night. It's amazing how much I depend on these girls already. Being so far from my family and friends is really hard, but it's so nice to have so many amazing women here that are going through the same thing.
Chris has really been battling for playing time this year. The Indians picked up a ton of players this off season to help form their new team. The new managing staff on the big league team needed to make the best team possible, so they wanted to have a ton of different options to chose from. But now, all of the teams are stacked with guys! It is really overwhelming to look on the AAA roster and see that every position that Chris plays is stacked with other players. But Chris is doing the best with the playing time that he has been getting. He is second on the team in homeruns...he hit three in the first 10 games. At one point he had more homeruns then singles. Not bad! So we're praying that he continues to hit well so that he can ensure he gets more playing time.
