Nothing to do? Let's bake!

Well now that I'm done with my MBA classes for the summer, I have a lot more time on my hands. Chris normally heads to the field around 1pm which means I have 6 hours to fill before I head to the game at 7pm! I normally head right to the gym after I drop him off, but there's only so much time one person can spend on an eliptical machine! :) So lately I have started baking!

First, it started with Chris' favorite sugar cookies. In the past when I was still living in California, I used to bake these scrumptious cookies and over-night them to Chris when he wasn't playing well. They were my little good luck package. But now that I am out here with him, I make them all the time. But I started to get sick of making the same sugar cookie recipe over and over again...so I'm starting to get creative. So far I've made chocolate cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, puppy chow (chex mix with melting chocolate, peanut butter and butter coated in powdered sugar) and mexican wedding cookies (pictured below). Mexican wedding cookies are my favorite Christmas-time recipe. I've never made them before, but they are super easy and so delicious! Chris has liked this new baking phase I have been going through too. When he gets home from the field there is either cookie dough in the fridge or fresh cookies to snack on. Next up...snickerdoodles! :)

  1. YUM! You should try decorating your cookies with colored frosting. You can buy the frosting tips and bags at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's lots of fun! Or cupcakes!
