Let the Packing Begin!!

I feel like such a boring blogger lately...but we really have had nothing going on lately except PACKING!! Yippee! I never thought this day would come! When we left for the start of the season last February I thought we would never be home. And here we are finishing off another year of baseball. Over the past 8 months we have accumulated a ton of stuff! New clothes, shoes, cookie sheets, cleaning supplies...its just amazing how much crap we have to move back home. But I will be better next year. Since this was my first year I wasn't sure what to expect, but with one full season under my belt I have learned some valuable lessons...

1. Chris will love this one...but I should have listened to my husband. He told me I was crazy for bringing so much stuff with me. And I thought I packed light!!! Ha ha ha!! Nope! But in all fairness, he has done this a few more times than I have. But I will get better! :)

2. If you haven't worn in it in the last six months, get rid of it! You won't wear it and you will be pissed when you realized you have packed it, repacked it, and repacked it through out the season. We already know we are going to be making a very large trip to the local Goodwill when we get home!

3. You will buy clothes. One of the wives told me to pack one suitcase and bring another for all the clothes you will buy throughout the year. And I definitely wish I had that extra bag right now!

4. If it's under $20 bucks, buy it on the road. The last thing you want to do is lug around cookie sheets, a lasagna pan, a toilet bowl plunger, or a broom all season. So even though it sounds like a waste of money...it makes way more sense than packing it every time you move.

5. Only pack things you can lift. We are lucky this year that Chris was with me every time we moved, but I have heard of many wives that are stuck packing up all of their stuff because their husband just got called up during a 10 day road trip. And if you have a 75 pound tub of stuff that your trying to move by yourself...then you might be SOL.

6. Finally, buy a kindle. One of the best presents Chris ever bought me was my kindle...an electronic reader. Books are so heavy and take up so much room. But I definitely love to read, so this has been a life saver for me throughout the season.

I'm sure there are many more things that I can think of, but I better start packing!! Ha ha!! 5 more days!! :)
