Christmas...just a little early!

I started looking on the calendar at the next couple weeks...and we are going to be gone for most of it! So I asked Chris if it would be ok if we decorated for Christmas early! We spent most of the afternoon yesterday listening to Christmas music and putting up all the decorations. We have a fake tree (against Chris' wishes), but it is just so much easier! It has all the lights already on it....so we just take it out of the box and plug it in. But I have a feeling if we're home more next year we may just have to get a real tree!





Do you see the size of our stockings?? There's a story behind that! My old room mate Teri had hand-made stockings that her mom had made her. A couple years ago, while Chris and I were visiting family, Teri's whole family came and stayed at our condo to celebrate Christmas. It was kind of a middle point for everyone to meet and since we were going to be gone it didn't matter to us. Teri went home to Washington for Thanksgiving and her mom sent her home with the whole family's stockings so they would be there when everyone arrived for Christmas. Now, these weren't just any hand-made stockings...they were huge!! And covered over half of the mantle!! They made our normal-sized stockings look like a joke! So my husband, being the competitive person that he is, wasn't going to be beat that easily. He went out to Target and bought the biggest stockings they had so we could hang them proudly next to Teri's!! It was so funny...but here they are in all their glory!
