Chris is starting his rehab assignment today!

Today's the day!  Chris will be starting his rehab assignment with the triple A team for the Mariners, the Tacoma Rainiers!  He is more then excited to start playing again.  He hasn't played in a game since he tore his oblique back on June 27th.  A couple weeks ago Chris was cleared for all activity...only about a month after his injury.  The doctors were shocked to see how quickly he healed from his grade 3 tear!  They didn't expect him to be back to full activities for 6-8 weeks!

Even though he was cleared, he had to work slowly to get back into baseball shape.  He started throwing 30 feet and taking swings off a tee.  Now he is playing long toss, throwing to the bases, doing catching drills and taking full batting practice before the games!  Today he is supposed to only play about 5 innings.  He will probably catch one day and then DH the next just so they don't push him too hard.  The earliest he can be back with the Mariners is August 27th, but he probably won't be activated until they expand the rosters on September 1st.  It will be nice to see him out there again...I have really missed watching him play.
