No matter where we live, I always find a running loop. Especially when we had Max with us, it was so important for us to get out for at least a 3 mile walk/run every day. And even before we had Max, I loved getting outside and going for a nice run. So it has kind of become a challenge for me...everywhere we live I find my running loop! Well Port Charlotte Florida is no exception. After a couple days when we were all unpacked and settled in our new home, I set out to find my loop. It didn't take long because there is a nice sidewalk one block away that goes down 1.7 miles! Perfect, 3.4 miles if I wanted to! So Jace and I started our daily walks. I always try to time them so we go during one of his naps (he normally takes 3, one hour long naps throughout the day.)
Well there was only one problem...it's a lot hotter in Florida then anywhere I have ever lived. And not only is it hot, it is humid! So after a couple days of walking with Jace, I started to notice little red bumps on him! He was starting to get a heat rash! So instead of taking an afternoon walk, we started going in the morning around 9am. But even going that early, it was still hot and humid. So now before we go I go out and check the weather...if it's not too bad I take Jace out of all his clothes until he is just in his diaper! And off we go! It's actually made me run faster because I'm worried he is going to get too hot! Yesterday we did the 3.4 mile loop in 30 minutes! Woo hoo! He's a personal trainer and doesn't even know it! :) I still need to be really careful that the little guy doesn't over heat...but hopefully he starts to get used to it so we can go to a few baseball games! I just hope that our seats are in the shade or we may not make it through too many games!
