Well spring training didn't start out quite like we were hoping this year. Chris and I arrived to Peoria, AZ one week before pitchers and catchers report on February 11th. But when Chris went to the field the first day to work out he learned some really disappointing news...he got taken of the 40-man roster and was designated for assignment. This means that all 29 other teams have a chance to pick up Chris and add him to their 40-man roster. This was definitely not the news we wanted to hear the day after we moved everything...our vehicles, Jace, Max, baby toys, clothes, strollers, etc...down to Arizona. But that's the baseball life...things can change any day.
The past few days were a waiting game. Chris couldn't even go to the field and work out because there is a chance he could get hurt...and the Mariners can't chance that when he could possibly be picked up by another team! Luckily, Chris has a friend down here that has a facility he can use to go hit and throw...so he's been going there for a couple hours every day so that he's ready to go. Other than that we've been taking lots of walks with Max and Jace to keep our minds off what could happen.
Well we found out late yesterday that unfortunately Chris cleared waivers, which basically means no teams added them to their roster. Now Chris has a week to decide if he wants to sign back with the Mariners on a minor league deal or go to a different team. So we have a big decision to make in the next couple days. I know everything happens for a reason and we will end up where we are supposed to be! Please send prayers our way that we make the best decision for our family and for Chris' career! We will keep you posted on what we decide!
And on a lighter note...here are some cute pictures of Jace! I love him so much and even through these tough times he makes us smile and realize what's most important...family!

Best of luck to y'all this year with whatever the future holds! You seem like great ppl and there's no doubt in my mind the Lord will take care of your precious family!
