Rehab, rehab, rehab.
That's pretty much been all that Chris has been doing lately, rehab. But that's ok because he needs to heal quickly and work on getting stronger. The team's trainer re-evaluated him about a week ago and said that Chris was much farther ahead of where he thought he should be. The trainer said that he has never seen anyone heal so fast from an oblique tear as severe as Chris'. So that was great news!
But no matter how good Chris feels, he can't be added back onto the big league roster until after 60 days. But, he can play on one of the Mariner's minor league rosters for a 20-day rehab assignment. So if everything keeps going along as planned...Chris could be back out there by the middle of August!! Yay!!
But until then, its just rehab! In the beginning all Chris could do was ice his injury. He was getting so bored! He would go to the field with all the guys and just sit there and watch them practice and play in the game. But since he was re-evaluated, they are letting him do some more. Now he lifting both his arms and legs on stationary equipment. He is doing a pool workout to strengthen his core muscles. And he even started throwing up to 60 feet! Needless to say his spirits have been a lot better now that he can actually do some more baseball related activities! He is even supposed to start hitting again this Saturday! They will keep monitoring him over the next few weeks, but hopefully if everything goes well he will be back in uniform starting a rehab assignment soon!

Come back soon! Clearly Chris was the glue holding this team together -- they're 4-14 without him!
