This past off day the guys got an opportunity of a lifetime. But before I tell you all the details, let me take you back about a week. Two Duke divers threw out the first pitch for a Durham Bulls game, Abby Johnston and Nick McCrory. Do those names sound familiar? Well they are both olympians, Abby won the silver medal and Nick won the bronze medal! The entire Durham team got to meet them and take pictures before the game. Here's a few pictures....

Randomly, one of the guys asked if there would be any chance that they could go jump off the platforms at Duke. Abby asked her coach, who was also their Olympic coach, and he said yes!! So jump ahead a week to today....Chris, along with 8 other guys headed to Duke on their off day to jump of the 30 meter platform with two Olympians and their Olympic coach. No big deal?! Seriously...this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm so glad I was able to get a few pictures of it!
Chris was so excited, but once he got up to the top of the platform he said he was really nervous. The divers told the guys that they will reach speeds over 30 mph by the time they hit the water. Chris was planning on doing a cannon ball, but by the time he got up there he decided that maybe a "pencil" jump would be a safer option! Ha ha!

A couple of the other divers on the team started showing off....he did a hand stand to a dive. So of course Chris decided to try it....and it wasn't quite as pretty! Ha ha!

We also walked around Duke afterward and went into Camden Indoor Stadium and the Duke Chapel! I will post some pictures of the rest of our day in another blog post! Stay tuned! :)
