Surprise trip to Columbus!

After the first four days of the Durham Bull's last long road, Alyssa and I decided we were over it!  The days get SO boring when the boys are on the road.  Even though we have each other, Payton and Jace to keep us busy the days just drag on when you have nothing to do.  So the night before the guys were headed to Columbus we got online and bought plane tickets!  We packed our bags, strollers and babies and headed to the airport!   The guys had no idea.  It was so much fun to surprise them and to spend a couple days on "vacation" in Columbus.  

It was really cool for Chris and I to go back to Columbus because we lived there for a couple seasons when Chris was playing for the Indians.  We went to a few of our favorites restaurants including Ted's for their famous bison burgers, Jeni's for the homemade ice cream and unique flavors and Sunny Street Cafe for their amazing coffee and yummy breakfast!  

It was a lot of fun to go on the road with Chris, but it was so much work with Jace.  He completely forgot how to take naps while we were there....so most of the time he was tired and crabby.  He also got his fifth tooth (up top next to the middle ones) so he was grumpy because of that too.  And the crib that they had at the hotel was metal.  Jace has this new obsession with pulling himself up to stand in his crib before naps, but this crib wasn't as forgiving as our pack and play at the apartment.  Every time he fell he would hit his head on the metal bars and start screaming.  Needless to say that put a damper on nap time.  But we made it home and hopefully we can get Jace back on his schedule in the next couple days!  Fingers crossed.  Here are couple pictures from our trip!
