Last night Chris and I were heading down stairs to eat with his hitting coach John Nunnally. On our way down to the mall, we ran into Manny Acta in the lobby. Manny was just hired as the new Manager for the Cleveland Indians. Before being hired with the Indians, Manny was the manager for the Washington Nationals. He came to Venezuela to interview Nunnally for the hitting coach position with the Indians. Chris loves working with John and so do a lot of the other Indians players...so needless to say Chris is really hoping that he gets the job. When Manny saw us he said hi to John and then said hi to Chris and shook his hand. We both thought it was really cool that he recognized Chris already and knew him by name. Manny was going to meet with John early this morning. So hopefully we will be celebrating with John tonight on receiving the hitting coach job with the Indians! :)
Today is the first game since we have been here. Chris is not going to play tonight, but he is going to catch some of the pitchers in the bull pen so he can get to know them. I'm going to go with Matt Gamel's wife and see what these games are all about! Should be fun!
