On Friday night, the team played Los Tiburones. They won the game and clinched their spot in the playoffs. It was pretty inevitable that they would get in, but they still celebrated as if they had won the World Series! The fans went crazy and they place was packed. The team all sprayed each other with champagne on the field and dumped the water coolers on the best players of the game. Then the whole team ran around the entire field hitting all of the fans hands as they ran around! I wonder how crazy it will be if they win the championship??? Hopefully we will find out! :)
The boys are on the road for a couple days. They left on Monday afternoon at 2pm and won't be home until probably 5am Thursday morning. They are in Puerta la Cruz, a city about 5 hours away. They took a bus....but Chris says the buses are so nice. He says they have nice leather seats with lots of leg room, he has own seat, the play DVDs and he said that its not bad at all! So that's good. I tried to tag along, but I would have had to fly by myself and we both felt like it would just be less stress if I stayed here while they were gone. But all the American girls have gone home and the games aren't being broadcast, so I've been getting a lot of good quality time with my hotel room! :) But it hasn't been too bad. I have been laying by the pool which is actually really nice. I took some pictures so you could see the pool and views of the city.
I am still amazed by the beautiful scenery of Caracas. Even though we are right in the middle of downtown, there are beautiful mountains surrounding us covered in greenery. It is breath taking! I took some pictures at the day game this past Sunday. You can see that the mountains start right behind the field...I couldn't see how pretty this was at the night games, but it really is beautiful.
We have also been keeping ourselves busy with our P90X workouts. We are on Week 4 of our 90 day workout program. For those of you who don't know, its an extreme home workout program that includes weights, bands, cardio, yoga, kick boxing...its awesome and a great workout. This week is all cardio and abs...we get a break from the weights until next week. Its great because it has given me something to do while Chris has been gone....each workout takes about an hour and a half. And when Chris is here, we do them together. Its been a great way for him to get into shape too! They have a nice weight room here when we need weights. Its funny though because half of it is open to outside which makes it a little tougher to workout because of the heat and humidity....but no pain no gain right?? Hopefully we will both be buff by the time we get back home! :)
Day 17 done...31 more to go!! (At least until the playoffs begin!!)
