I took a couple pictures of #90, he's basically like the Leones live mascot. This guy has been around for ever! Chris says he is always dancing around the club house and joking with the guys. Every game he stands on the pitchers mound and holds a Venezuelan flag while they play the national anthem. Then during the game he sits in the stands and leads cheers. His number every year changes to represent his age...so this year he is 90 years old and you would never guess that! He looks and acts much younger.
I got some closer shots of the "cheer leaders." One group stands out front before the game and take pictures with the fans and helps with some of the on field promotions. The other group they call "The Ballerinas" and they dance in between innings. They are pretty scandalous! :)
Here is a picture of the group of Americans that were in town this week for Christmas. From right to left: Rock and Heather Hudgens (Dave Hudgens, the Los Leones manager's kids), me, Cindy (the trainer, Nate's, girlfriend), Lynn and Kevin (Nate's parents). It was so fun to have them in town for the week!
Here are some pictures of us having dinner in our favorite grocery store/restaurant called La Crepa....or as we call it "The American Store." We call it that because it sells all sorts of name brand foods that we have back home....including Peter Pan peanut butter! The restaurant food is delicious and they have the most amazing gelato! Tonight Chris had Spaghetti with meat sauce and I had spinach and ricotta stuffed tortellinis (they were HUGE!). Then we finished off the night by sharing a couple scoops of gelato....muy bien!
We celebrated Christmas early this year. We didn't want to take our stockings with us on our mini vacation....so we opened our little gifts tonight! I got Chris Oreos and a bag full of gummy worms...the way to guys heart is through his stomach, right? He got me Lifesavers and a cute white purse that he found when they were playing in Puerto la Cruz. I love it...so thoughtful of him! Merry first Christmas! :)
Day 25 done....23 more to go! :)
