Volunteering at Recreation Unlimited

This past Saturday, Chris and three other Clippers players were asked to volunteer at Recreation Unlimited with Mike Sarbaugh, the Clippers Manager and Ken Schnake, the owner of the Clippers. Recreation Unlimited is a facility that they use for all different types of camps and retreats. This specific weekend was one of four camps geared for kids with autism. They had kids there from age 12-18 with different degrees of autism. Erica (Jess Todd's wife) and I were able to tag along and help too. They had a small baseball diamond out back, so we went out there to play a game with the kids. They had a sound system set up outside so they played the national anthem before the game and then played music during the game. It was really fun and the kids did great! Some of them had some really good hits and could throw the ball really well! And some of them were showing off their dance moves! :) After the game, the players signed autographs for the kids...it was really cool to see how excited they all were. Chris loves doing these types of things...so I'm sure this won't be the last time this season that he gets involved with something like this.

  1. So glad we happened to be volunteering at RU's campus and were asked to sing the National Anthem for the kids that day! Be sure to thank Chris and the other Clippers who were there; hopefully we'll get to connect at another future event!
