Mom and Dad Trip to Columbus!

This past weekend my parents came out to Columbus to visit! We had such a fun time! They stayed at the hotel that is directly across the street from our apartment. So most of the mornings they came over and had breakfast with us. One morning Chris and I even surprised them with pancakes, bacon, eggs and coffee! It was delicious! After Chris went to the field, I spent the rest of the day showing my parents our favorite restaurants and tourist attractions. The first day we drove around Ohio State so that my dad could see the "Horse-shoe"...the gigantic football stadium at the university. We went to lunch at the North Market....which is a large warehouse type building with a bunch of local restaurants. We all got to try different types of food from the different restaurants. So yummy! Then we went to Chris' batting practice and them to Boston's for dinner...a great little pizzeria down the street from the field. Then off to the game!

The next day my dad went with Chris to the field to get a tour...he got to see the club house, training room, weight room and the dug out. He really enjoyed that. While my dad was with Chris, my mom and I went shopping! I took her to the Easton Shopping Center...its this awesome outdoor mall about 10 minutes from where we live down town. We had a great time and even got frozen yogurt at this awesome place called Yogoot! (pronounced Yo-goo). She even brought one back for my dad...we put it right in front of the AC during the ride home so it wouldn't melt! :) That night we went to Ted's so my parents could experience a Bison Burger...they loved them! Then off to the game!

Day three, we went out to breakfast at this awesome place called Sunny Street Cafe. Then Chris went to the field and me and my parents went to the Titanic Exhibit. It was so much fun and they really enjoyed it. We decided to walk there since it was only 1/2 mile from their hotel and our apartment. However, on our walk home we experienced Ohio rain! As we were walking out of the museum it started to sprinkle, but we figured it wouldn't be too bad so we kept walking. Just as we were getting out of the parking lot, it started to get a little worse. My dad turned around and asked me and my mom if we should stop and get a cab. Before he could even get the sentence out of his mouth, it started pouring harder then I've ever seen!!! We ran for cover under a tree, but we were all soaked!! It was hilarious!! (See pictures below!) We snacked before the game and then after the game the four of us went to a really nice steak house called Lindeys. It was amazing!

Finally, on day 4 before I took my parents to the airport I took them to Jeni's. Our favorite ice cream parlor! My mom tried like 10 of their flavors...they are all so unique and different. The guy that worked there was loving it and was explaining all of the flavors in full detail and having us try his favorites. My mom said she was bummed that we hadn't gone there sooner because she wanted to try more flavors. Ha ha! I had so much fun with them and hated to see them leave! Love you guys!
