Another Rain-out!

One reason that I love the Mariners stadium is the fact that it has a retractable roof.  Which means we will never have a rain delay!  Rain delays are so frustrating....not only for the players, but for the fans too!  I hate rain delays!  I mean I already watch 162 games a year...and I don't mind if they all finish up right around the 3-hour mark.  :)

Thursday night, the Mariners arrived in Cleveland with the hopes to play a three game series and then fly home to Seattle.  Well the teams only ended up playing one game because of the rain.  On Saturday, the second game went into a rain delay in the bottom of the first inning and was later postponed.  Then on Sunday, the teams were never able to even take the field because it was raining so hard.  Two hours later, that game was postponed.  Now the two teams will have to play two double headers when they face each other again in August!  That will be a long weekend for the two teams!

Chris played in the only completed game on Friday versus the tribe...but was bummed that they lost in a heartbreaking walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th.  But he really enjoyed visiting with all of his old team mates.  He said it was definitely bitter sweet to be back at Progressive field...especially since this was the first time he was in the visiting club house.  He also got to see the old coaches, managers and club house staff that he has known for the past 8 years.  All in all, it was a rainy, reminiscent weekend.
