Mother's Day Cake Pops!! :)

Happy Mother's Day to our amazing moms...Pam and Karen!  We love you!!

Since I never made Easter cake pops, I thought I might as well make cake pops for Mother's Day and give them to my mom and Chris' mom!  Instead of the normal flower bouquet, I decided to make a cake pop bouquet!  :)

I used two flavors in the bouquet...chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting.  (I like using the whipped frosting better because it seems to mix easier then regular frosting.)  After making all of the cake balls, I dipped them in a combination of different colored candy melts.  I used white, chocolate, pink and purple to give them a mother's day feel!  :)  I made half of them "cupcakes" and the other half just normal, one color dipped cake pops.  The cupcakes are a little tricky.  You have to start by forming the bottom in a cookie cutter to make it look like a cupcake bottom, then you have to dip that portion separately, add the popsicle stick, let it dry and then dip the other side.  For my first try I think I did pretty well!

Then, to finish them off...I individually wrapped each cake pop in a clear bag and tied with a bow!  I secured the cake pops using the styrofoam blocks in a cute flower pot!  :)  We mailed them with lots of extra packing materials...and they made it safe in sound just in time for our moms to enjoy them on Mother's Day!! :)

Strawberry with cream cheese inside, pink candy melts on the outside!  :)
Mini cupcake cake-pops!

The purple candy melts were my favorite!

All wrapped up!

The final touch...cake pops bouquets!
