The first people we told were our parents and our two brothers. Chris' parents had just left Arizona about a week before we knew. But my parents were heading down to spring training the day after we found out. We told each set of parents a different way. We sent Pam and Paul a text message with a picture of the pregnancy test. About 2 minutes later we got a text back that said "OMG!" Ha ha! It was funny! Then they called us to tell us congratulations. They already gave our baby a nickname "Baby G2." Chris brother and his wife are expecting their first child in about a week! They are keeping the name a secret...so everyone started calling it "Baby G." So since our baby will be the second Gimenez grandchild, it got the name Baby G2! :)
Since my parents were coming to town...we tried to be a little more creative. This is my parents first grand child and I knew they were going to be really surprised. They were coming the day before St. Patrick's Day so I had already decided to make green cake balls for them. So I made two special cake balls...one that was light blue and one that was light pink. I put I white question mark on each cake ball. The first night they got to Arizona, we ask them if they wanted to come over to the house for cake balls and wine....I told them that I had made a couple special ones just for them! They looked at plate, then at each other, and then my mom's jaw dropped open and she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "You are!" It was so cute! Here is a picture of the cake balls and their reaction after they found out. :)
At our 8 weeks appointment we were finally able to see what out little baby was starting to look like. It was only an inch long and looked like a little gummy bear! Even though it was really small we could already see the heart beat and it was moving its little stub arms and legs! So cute!
We went in on Monday for our 12 week ultrasound. I could not believe how much our little one had changed in just four weeks! Now it completely looks like a baby...we could see arms, legs, feet, hands, and a face! The ultrasound tech said it is just about 3 inches long! And it was moving all over the place...stretching out its legs, moving its arms, rolling over. It was crazy. I still can't feel it yet, but hopefully in the next couple weeks I will start feeling little flutters! Here are a couple pictures of our long-legged cutie! I thought it was so funny how it had its legs propped up...just reclining in its little home! So funny! And it has some long legs...just like me!
