This last off day Chris had a really fun idea. He said that for dinner he wanted to just drive around and find a random restaurant...no reviews, no recommendations, no nothing. So we started toward downtown Renton, WA. Chris was in the mood for mexican. So we were hunting for an authentic, little hole in the wall....and we found this little hot spot!
Habanero's was tucked in a random shopping strip. I was a little hesitant by looking on the outside, but Chris just kept saying "this is the place." As soon as we walked in the door I knew he was right....it smelled amazing!! You place your order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. The owner was working the cashier...and of course we started chatting with him (weird, I know....us talking to people!) He was so nice...said he was from California and that his family has many restaurants around the Santa Rosa/Petaluma area.
We picked a table, Chris sipped his 32 oz Pacifico (it was an off day...have to take advantage), and we loaded up on the homemade salsa. We both ordered burritos...I got a shredded chicken and Chris got the steak. They were stuffed with rice, beans, guacamole, salsa and the meat we ordered. It seriously was the best burrito we have ever had!! We both finished them...and they were pretty big! I was proud of myself. It was a really fun night...and we will definitely have to "drive and dine" again soon! :)
That Pacifico looks AMAZING.
