The past three days...

We have had a crazy few days!! Let me just break it down for you...

SUNDAY
-Wake up to Jace coughing and a fever of 102
-Take Jace to Urgent Care
-Jace treated for upper respiratory infection
-Chris playing in Boston
-Chris calls after game to tell me he got sent back down to Durham, NC
-I start packing
-I call apartments in Durham but they are closed until Tuesday because of Memorial Day. Hope they still have apartments available.
-Chris flies back to Tampa from Boston, gets home around 10pm.

MONDAY (Memorial Day)
-Jace wakes up at 6:30am coughing.
-We all get up and finish packing
-Load our cars, it was 90 degrees with 100% humidity
-Jace doesn't have a fever but is coughing and fussy
-Leave Tampa at 12:30pm for Durham (11 hour drive)
-Hit tropical storm, tons of rain, can only drive 30 mph hour for first hour of drive
-Rain clears
-Hit traffic, huge accident, takes 2 hours to go 1/2 mile
-Jace starts crying like crazy because he's hungry. Crying makes him cough worse. So I'm in the car with a crying, coughing, hungry baby in stand-still traffic. The next exit is 2 miles away.
-I pull off the side of the road to feed Jace
-We decide to illegally drive cross the grass in median to head back the opposite way to get around accident.
-Get lost and end up on a toll road
-Stop to regroup at Wendy's and get a frosty
-Stand in line for 20 minutes, get mad and leave without frosty.
-An hour later we finally get back on freeway past accident
-Drive 30 minutes and it's time to feed Jace again.
-Finally stop in Savannah, GA. Took us 11 hours to drive there, should have taken 5 1/2 hours.
-Spend night in hotel.

TUESDAY
-Leave at 9am for Durham
-Jace still fussy and coughing. He's so sick of the car seat.
-Call apartment complex, they are completely booked. First available apartment isn't until end of June.
-Jace gets second tooth...explains extra fussiness.
-Hit tropical storm, drive 40 mph for another hour.
-Ask another player if we can share their two bedroom apartment. They said yes. Thank goodness!
-We arrive in Durham at 4pm after 18 hours of driving, should have only taken 11 hours.
-Unpack cars in 90 degree weather while I'm carrying Jace in front of me in our baby carrier
-New apartment is on second floor. Lots of stairs.
-Jace's new room is in our closet
-Unpack suitcases.
-Play with Jace, give him bath and put him to bed.
-Chris and I have a beer.

Phew!! The life of baseball!
