Military Crawl!

Chris and I had so much fun during the past three days!  The all-star break is such a welcomed changed from our day to day routine during the baseball season.  The days off give us a chance to spend some quality time together just relaxing.  It was even better that we were able to spend it at home.  We just fell right back into our off-season routine...we would start off the day having breakfast, enjoying a cup of coffee, playing with Max and watching Jace play with all his toys.  Then after about an hour we would pack up into the stroller and go for a 3 mile walk.  We have a loop where we can take Max off his leash and he can run around chasing birds and bunnies.  And Jace normally takes an hour long morning nap.  The weather is perfect at 7:30am, right around 70 degrees....so nice.  Then we would come back home and relax, watch TV, or run some errands!  The best part of the day was at night...we BBQ'd every night, watched the homerun derby and the all-star game, then after Jace went to bed we would go sit out on our patio and enjoy a glass of wine.  It was such a nice "vacation" from baseball and while we noth don't want to leave our house, we feel recharged and ready to finish the rest of the season.

While we were home Jace showed off a new trick...he has figured out how to military crawl.  Uh-oh, we're in trouble!! He basically drags himself with his arms whereever he wants to go.  It's so fun to finally see where is wants to go and not just where we sit him.  So if he wants me to hold him, he pulls himself toward me....or if he wants to grab my water bottle, he pulls himself toward it.  While it's so fun to see him learning I'm already realizing quickly that life is about to get a little tougher.  Before I could just put him on the floor with toys and he would contently play for 30 minutes while I did laundry or made dinner.  But now he is all over the place and I have to keep an eye on him!  Here's a short video of him showing off his new skill....if you listen carefully you can hear him breathing hard!  It's tough work pulling yourself across the floor!  :)

  1. As soon as he realizes he has 2 legs, he's going to be flying!
